Many early reports focused on the AF interface spins which are believed to play a key role in achieving an EB effect 2, 3, 4. After its discovery by Meiklejohn and Bean in oxidized cobalt particles 1 the myriad of applications have inspired an enormous amount of research. Exchange bias (EB) manifests itself as a shift of the hysteresis loop along the cooling field direction for a ferromagnet (FM) exchanged coupled to an antiferromagnet (AF).
